Details: All WCA members are encouraged to participate. The library is having a "Cinema Summer" reading/movie program so we thought we would attach our artwork to that theme. Participating members are encouraged to think along these lines: movie title theme, textile, soft sculpture okay, movie quotes as possible title for abstract or realistic interpretations, kids as heroes, favorite leading ladies, interpreting a book, movie, myth, or story using a series of images, favorite stories from childhood, adults/kids stories.

Artwork can be hands-on/interactive. The library, located nearby, has an ongoing animal theme and would love artwork for that area as well- 2-D or 3-D ok, sculptures, handmade books, art on easels, etc (24" max size). Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets by Barbara Walker is a possible idea source.

Size: needs to fit into a van or else artist needs to transport it, however this is a large space so large wall work is encouraged, several 7' wide wall sections, lots of high areas for large art. Will have map of area available at March 7th meeting, can also look online at Broomfield WEBSITE: www.ci.broomfield.co.us/cultural for photos of our showing area and sizes.

Amount of work: aiming for 25- 50 pieces, depending on size, each member may submit up to 2 pieces, completed since 2000, would like a paragraph about your work to go into a little notebook on display.

Marketing/PR: Call/email Jean Smith by March 28th if you are interested; our basic PR needs to be ready by March 31st to go out with Broomfield information. We need to create the card and will be calling on Bonnie and Susan for their expertise. We will have a sign-in sheet and a welcomer during the opening to encourage signing. There is a long wall that would be a natural for a WCA banner if anyone is interested in creating such an item, and it could be used at other sites.

MANDATES: no nudes, family friendly topics, professionally hung with wires attached to back, final approval of work by Broomfield Cultural Affairs, all artists sign artist's agreement, 20% Broomfield commission and applicable 7.85% tax, Artist insures work, price list provided by WCA. Sales will be taken care of by Alisa Zimmerman, Cultural Affairs Manager, City & Co Of Broomfield. If you have any questions, call or email Jean Smith, 303-377-3945, jbsarts@aol.com
